Jog Falls - Mighty waterfalls in South India: I hiked down the Jog Falls in my home state of Karnataka. It is about 375 km from Bangalore in the Shimoga district. It is a mighty waterfalls (created by Sharavati river)-- which is the highest waterfalls in India with close to a 1000 ft drop (perhaps the second or the third highest in the world).
