The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was the Yugoslav state that existed from the end of World War II (1945) until it disintegrated in the Yugoslav wars in the 1990s. It was a Socialist state that comprised the area of the present-day independent states of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.
