IWA Local 1000 - Founded in 1959, Local 1000 represents approximately 2,000 workers in 30 different operations in northern Ontario, stretching from Sault Ste. Marie to Hawkesbury. Members are involved in wood products, plastics, synthetic fibres, auto dealerships and old age homes.
