Pico Rivera is a city located in southeastern Los Angeles County, California, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 63,428.

Pico Rivera was formed in the 1950s from the merger of the longstanding cities of Pico (named for Pio Pico, the last Californio governor of California) and Rivera. Situated on a rich alluvial plain between the Rio Hondo and the San Gabriel River, the city was once predominantly agricultural, but since the 1960s it has been primarily residential.

Pico Rivera is often considered a San Gabriel Valley city, but as it lies below the Whittier Narrows, it is more properly one of the "Gateway Cities." As with neighboring Downey and Norwalk, its population has gone from mostly white to almost entirely Latino since the 1980s.
