Dania Beach is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 20,061 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 28,479.^*

History

The first city in Broward County dating back to the 1880s. Starting as a settlement called Modello, it was incorporated in November, 1904. Most of the 35 residents were of Danish ancestry, and they changed the name of the town to Dania.
