Tender may mean:

In finance:

• A process by which a government or company seeks quotes for a particular project (such as a construction job) to be carried out by a contracting company. The sealed offers themselves, including company information, a project outline, and a price quote, are known as tenders. See Also: Tenders, reverse auction, Contract A and RFQ.
• Legal tender, a term used of currency
• tender offer - used to propose a buyout of a public company

In transport:

• one of several types of boat or ship, all sharing the general function of servicing another type of air or sea vessel:
  • destroyer tender – supplies and services destroyers
  • luxury yacht tender - supplies and services a private or charter luxury yacht
  • seaplane tender - supplies and services seaplanes
  • submarine tender - resupplies submarines
  • motor torpedo boat tender - resupplies motor torpedo boats
  • ship's tender - used to transport people and supplies to and from a large ship
  • dive tender - another name for Diving support vessel
  • lighthouse tender - used to tend lighthouses and, later, buoys
• Tender locomotive, a type of railroad car hauled immediately after the locomotive proper that contains the fuel and water
• The Israeli name for a pickup truck
