Four ships of the United States Navy (and one of the Confederate States Navy) have been named USS Arkansas in honor of the 25th state.

• The first USS Arkansas (steamer), a wooden-hulled, barkentine-rigged, screw steamer originally named Tonawanda that saw action in the American Civil War.
• The second USS Arkansas (BM-7), the lead ship of her class of single-turreted monitor, was one of the last American monitors.
• The third USS Arkansas (BB-33), a Wyoming-class battleship, saw action in World War I, and in World War II including the D-Day Landings.
• The fourth USS Arkansas (CGN-41) was a Virginia class nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser.
