Braidwood is a city in Will County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,203 at the 2000 census.

A major nuclear power plant, currently owned by Exelon Corporation, is in Braidwood. It provides a great deal of the electricity used in Chicagoland. It also provides a great deal of the tritiated water found in local groundwater.
