Frostburg is a city in Allegany County, Maryland, United States. It is the site of Frostburg State University. The population was 7,873 at the 2000 census. Located eight miles west of Cumberland, Maryland, the town is one of the first cities on the "National Road", US 40, and is also home to I-68. Frostburg is home to the God's Ark of Safety ministry and its associated roadside landmark, a replica of Noah's Ark being built on the highway hillside since 1976.
