According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.6 km² (5.2 mi²). 12.6 km² (4.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.4 mi²) of it (6.86%) is water.

As of the census² of 2000, there were 315 people, 136 households, and 87 families residing in the city. The population density was 24.9/km² (64.5/mi²). There were 150 housing units at an average density of 11.9/km² (30.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 94.92% White, 0.32% Native American, 0.63% Asian, 0.63% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other races, and 3.17% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.32% of the population.
