Duckwater is located in the central portion of the U.S. state of Nevada, at approximately , about the same latitude as the top of the "slant" and almost exactly parallel with Sacramento, CA. It is in Nye County, on the eastern edge of the Duckwater Indian Reservation. The city of Las Vegas is about 200 miles to the south-southeast.

With more than 7,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in Nevada, 60 School of Public Health students at the University of Nevada, Reno are looking to educate and inform the community on World AIDS Day, Saturday, Dec. 1 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the grand ballroom at the Joe Crowley Student Union.
