Pushmataha (1764-1824) was a chief of the Choctaw. He negotiated several treaties with the United States, and fought on the side of the Americans in the War of 1812. His portrait was painted by Charles Bird King in 1824. He is buried in the Congressional Cemetery in Washington, D.C..
