Albion Park is a suburb of Shellharbour. Its name has its origins in Britain. Currently Albion Park has a population of 20,000, and continues to expand by a rate of 12.5% per year. Albion Park is bordered by the Illawarra escarpment in the west, Dapto in the North, Kiama in the South and Shellharbour in the East.
Between Albion Park, Shellharbour and Dapto is the small town of Albion Park Rail. Albion Park Rail's origins come from the Albion Park railway station, which was built a few kilometres out of town due to the excessive noise of the passing trains. Over time, houses were built near the railway station, and Albion Park Rail is now a town in its own right.
