Adelaide City is a football (soccer) club in Adelaide, Australia. They have also known as Adelaide Force. They played in the National Soccer League (NSL) for many years but withdrew just prior to the 2003/2004 season. They now play in the South Australian Super League.

The club was founded and primarily followed by people of Italian heritage and originally called Juventus from 1946-1966. In 1966 they became Adelaide Juventus and in 1977 Adelaide City, when Frank Lister captained the team in the inaugural NSL competition. He later went on to win the 'Golden Boots' award for that year and was inducted into the South Australian Soccer Hall of Fame in 2005.

@erwinrenaldi it's not the city that comes to mind for most people- but take a look at what Adelaide has to offer... i like it a lot. :)
